Founder
Frank Renfro
Frank
began pursuing his dream of opening a Sober Living Home early on
in his own recovery from drugs and alcohol. As a nursing
student he came to the realization that he wanted to have more autonomy
than what a RN's license would have allowed. Therefore, drawing
from his undergraduate, graduate studies, and his experience as
a recovering alcoholic he decided to pursue his dream and open his
own sober living home. Frank knew that if he could put together
a special place, people would come, and benefit from their stay
there. Frank readily admits that primary treatment or sober living
is not a necessity to getting sober and staying sober. "It's
really a luxury for those who can afford it.
It's a safe place to recover and concern him or her with recovery
one day at a time without many of the worries and temptations one
finds on their own. I've seen people get sober and stay sober coming
out of indigent detoxes, and others relapse after treatment at The Betty
Ford Center.
It is squarely dependent upon the individuals actions." Soon
after he realized his dream could become a reality, he devoted himself
to creating an affordable, all-inclusive, upscale sober living home
within close proximity to the beach. Frank cherishes the opportunity
to help those who want to help themselves. We feel very privileged
and grateful for the time we share with our clients.
Frank was involved in other local organizations as well. He served as
the Chairman of ER on the Board of Directors of the Auxillary Department
at South Coast Medical Center, as well as Mission Hospital Laguna Beach. He also
served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Sober Living
Coalition as the Secretary and Fundraising Chairman.
Owner & Operator
Mark Brown
It has been said "that our very lives depends on our constant
thought of others”. I have had the privilege to be of service to alcoholics and addicts in jails, prisons,
hospitals, rehabilitation and detox centers for over 10 years. This passion for the recovery process and the people who
are willing to go through that process has led me to a purpose filled contented life.
It is this passion that I bring to The Pacific Coast House. Not only to assist with a safe and sane place to start the
journey of recovery, but also to have an opportunity to demonstrate the joy and peace that this “Design
for living” brings. I am very blessed to be a part of The Pacific Coast House.
Owner & Operator
Rafael Vasquez
Rafael, co-owner and operator, is also in recovery and has been sober for a number of years. Rafael decided to own a recovery home because of his passion for helping people and his love for those in recovery.
Rafael finds a great deal of joy seeing people turn their lives around and is incredibly grateful to be a part of the process.
He is one of those special people whom you can't not love.
Referred Psychotherapist
Eric Nada, M.A., M.F.T.
Eric
Nada is a Marriage and Family Therapist currently working in two
local drug and alcohol treatment centers, in a clinic aiding victims
of domestic violence, as well as maintaining a private practice
in a neighboring beach community. Eric believes that while 12-step
involvement should be the focal point of successful recovery from
addiction, it is also beneficial to shed light on one's psychological
patterns and approaches to life, so that a more holistic and individualistic
outlook can be adopted.
Eric is a close friend of ours and we feel very blessed to have
him in our lives. As well as being a close friend, Eric is also
a recovering alcoholic making his own recovery his number one priority.
PM Manager
Andrew Fitzsimmons
Andrew is our
amazing night manager. We are very fortunate to have him aboard as he is very patient
, calm, understanding, ethical, and responsible. Andrew is in his third year of sobriety
and takes his recovery very seriously.
When he is not working, studying, or surfing he serves as a
12-Step group Chairperson for Orange County's Hospitals and Institutions. The standards at the Pacific
Coast House are higher than most and Andrews performance has helped PCH have the superiour reputation that
it does.
Yoga Instructor
Nicki Smart
Nicki
is another great friend of ours. As well as a long-time practitioner
of Yoga, Nicki also works in Laguna Beach. Another believer in
the holistic approach to recovery, Nicki brings a synthesis of
joy, calm, and focus to her craft.
She provides weekly basic instruction in Hatha Yoga to all who are
interested. Nicki is a true jewel and a great blessing to the
PCH family.
